STOP #6. 30 Hancock St. Greek revival with porte cochère
This Greek revival home, built in 1845, was extensively remodeled in the late 1800s.
The most interesting feature is the porte cochère.
A porte cochère is a covered porch-like structure through which a vehicle, or horse and carriage, can pass to provide arriving and departing occupants, protection from the elements.
Also of note are the leaded glass windows and elaborate cutwork trellis.
