About ten yards past Munroe’s grave, note the wide stone on your right marking the burial of six children from the Childs family in 1778. All died within a few weeks of each other, most likely from smallpox or some other epidemic.
Markers for each of the children
Only one son survived. Abijah and Sarah lived for many years afterward, and are buried right behind their children.
